Data Companion - On Tuesday (4 May), the Supiori Regency Statistics Agency (BPS) designated Sauyas Village and Wafor Village as Supiori Regency’s ‘Love Statistics Village’ for 2026. The ‘Love Statistics Village’ initiative is one of the BPS’s strategic programmes, aimed at improving statistical literacy among village officials in order to achieve high-quality statistics for a prosperous Indonesia.
One of the initiatives in the ‘Love Statistics Village’ programme is the ‘Love Statistics Village’ Launch, which was attended by:
1. Head of BPS-Statistics Supiori Regency and staff
2. Assistant 1 (Government Affairs) to the Setda of Supiori Regency
3. Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Agency of Supiori Regency
4. Head of East Supiori Sub-District and staff
5. Chair of the Supiori Love Statistics Village Team and staff
6. Village Head of Sauyas and Village Head of Wafor
7. Head of the Sauyas Village Council and Head of the Wafor Village Council
8. Village Statistics Officers for Sauyas and Wafor
The launch was conducted in person by the Head of BPS-Statistics Supiori Regency, Paul Santoso, S.ST, M.Si, together with representatives from the Supiori Regency Local Government
The Love Statistics Village Programme generally aims to:
1. To improve the literacy, awareness and active involvement of village officials and the community in the implementation of statistical activities;
2. To standardise the management of statistical data in order to maintain the quality and comparability of statistical indicators;
3. To optimise the use and application of statistical data so that development programmes in the village are targeted effectively.
The objectives of the DESA CANTIK development programme are:
>> Improved statistical capabilities in the villages under our guidance
>> Higher quality statistical data managed in the villages
>> Statistical data is used as key information for village development
