Data Companion - Ahead of the 2026 Self-Assessment of the Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics Implementation (EPSS), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Supiori Regency is moving swiftly to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration. This initiative is marked by intensive coordination meetings involving the Communications and Information Department as the Data Steward, the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) as the Coordinator of One Data Indonesia (SDI), and the Health Department and the Women and Child Protection Department as Data Producers, which are the subjects of the assessment
The main focus of this meeting was to speed up the preparation of supporting evidence for the EPSS assessment, covering Domains 1 to 5. Given that there is only one month left, the BPS Supiori EPSS Team is urging data producers to finalise the entry of documents and supporting evidence into the Simbatik application as soon as possible
‘The EPSS is not merely about chasing index figures. It is a collective effort to ensure that data collaboration runs smoothly across the board,’ emphasised the BPS EPSS Supiori team during the meeting. The success of the EPSS is believed to reflect the strength of the statistical ecosystem in Supiori Regency, which ultimately serves as a guarantee for the success of regional development.
As well as serving as a means of evaluation, the EPSS is a vital tool for every agency to improve data and metadata standards. Through this process, the statistics produced are expected to become increasingly accurate and of higher quality, thereby providing a solid foundation for government policy-making
This initiative also marks a crucial milestone in strengthening the implementation of Satu Data Indonesia (SDI) through collaboration between Data Stewards, Data Producers and the BPS as the Data Supervisor. Interestingly, the results of this EPSS assessment will subsequently be integrated with the information held by the Supiori Regency Public Information Disclosure Unit (PPID) to achieve greater public transparency
Given its strategic role as the lead agency for sectoral statistics, BPS of Supiori Regency remains committed to supporting local government agencies (OPDs) in order to enhance the maturity level of the EPSS by 2026.
