Data Companion - To kick-start the working spirit following the Eid al-Fitr holidays, all staff at the Supiori Regency BPS organised a meaningful health walk on Friday, 24 April 2026. Led directly by the Head of the Supiori Regency BPS, Paul Santoso, the event followed a strategic route starting from the BPS office to the region’s economic hub—namely the Supiori Main Terminal and Main Market—before returning to the BPS office.
However, this health walk was not just an ordinary physical activity. Capitalising on the momentum of preparations for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), which is fast approaching, every step taken by BPS staff is infused with an educational mission through the distribution of “Cerita Data Supiori” (CERDAS) cards. These innovative cards are specifically designed to provide business owners with a concise yet comprehensive understanding of the importance of economic data collection in Supiori
Along the route, staff actively approached each business they encountered. Using a persuasive approach, they explained the essence of SE2026 before handing out CERDAS cards as a reminder. The response was very positive; traders and service providers in the market area appeared enthusiastic about the information and expressed their willingness to provide accurate data once the official data collection began
This initiative demonstrates that outreach does not have to be rigid. By engaging directly with the community on the ground, the Supiori BPS not only keeps its staff physically fit but also builds a bond of trust with local residents. Through these warm interactions, it is hoped that communities across 38 villages will gain a better understanding of the BPS’s role and be ready to become successful partners in the upcoming 2026 Population Census, thereby contributing to more measurable regional development.
