Abstract

Farmer Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In May 2023, the Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in Papua Province fell by 0.32 percent with an NTP index of 100.29. The decline in FTT occurred because the price index received by farmers (It) of 0.07 percent changed more slowly than the change in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) of 0.40 percent.
The May 2023 National NTP was 110.20 or decreased by 0.34 percent compared to the previous month's NTP.
Of the 34 provinces where NTP was calculated in May 2023, it shows that 14 provinces experienced an increase in NTP while 20 other provinces experienced a decrease in NTP, where Lampung Province recorded the highest increase in NTP, which was 1.61 percent and Bangka Belitung Province recorded the lowest decrease in NTP. namely 5.20 percent.
Papuan villages in May 2023 recorded an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) of 0.39 percent.
The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for Papua in May 2023 was 101.86 or decreased by 0.33 percent.
