Data Companion - Farmers are the driving force in the agricultural sector. One of the main objectives of agricultural development is to improve the welfare of farmers and their families. The welfare of farmers can be measured by various proxy indicators, namely the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP), the Agricultural Business Exchange Rate (NTUP), and the poverty rate. The NTP is a measure of the purchasing power of farmers in rural areas, while the NTUP is a measure of farmers' ability to meet their agricultural business needs.
On Wednesday, 10 September, the Supiori Regency BPS conducted SKP (FARMER WELFARE SURVEY) training. This training was held for two full days from 10 to 11 September. The training was a mandatory step for all field participants who will carry out tasks in the field so that they could better understand the concepts and definitions of the activities they will be working on.
The 2025 SKP training was opened by the Head of the Supiori Regency BPS, Paul S.ST, M.Si, and attended by the regional instructor (Inda), Destiana Nur Safitri, S.Tr.Stat., the committee, and training participants. In his speech, Paul S. emphasised the importance of this survey as material for improving the calculation of farmers' welfare levels and reminded officers to work as well as possible and on time in order to produce quality SKP data.
The SKP itself aims to obtain indicators of farmer welfare by showing multidimensional aspects, including income and resources, education, health, decent living standards, food security and nutrition, and risk mitigation.
To all Pace-Mace in Supiori, let us support the implementation of the SKP survey from BPS. To Pace-Mace who are interviewed as samples of farming households, please provide complete information to the statistical officers who are collecting data. Thank you (PS).
